Hotel Ascona

Comfortable beds in our double room.

the hotel was chic and overall clean with great views over lake. location: the property was near to car / taxi, and the loch and mountains. it also was easy to find at the rank in the town centre.

Nothing, all excellent.

I have received a very generous upgrade. The room, bathroom and terrace are large and homely furnished. Finally a hotel where you have enough space in the closet and bathroom, therefore also recommendable for a longer stay. Everything tiptop clean! The view is just great, the plants in the garden with pool are beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and patient. The breakfast offers everything you need. The place on the breakfast terrace with view over Ascona and the beautiful garden is unique! A hotel to feel good in, in which I slept very calmly and pleasantly for the second time already. I will definitely come back

A kettle in the room with a small tea/coffee selection would still be desirable, so you could enjoy the view from the balcony in your pyjamas

The price-performance ratio at dinner was very good. I would rate all 4 courses on a scale of 1-10 with a 9th. The outside park with the swimming pool is very nice. There are enough parasols and sunbeds to find enough space and shade even during rush hours. The location is very nice and under normal conditions also quiet (see below). The breakfast had everything we wanted for breakfast.

The pulled together single beds in room 107 are on castors and like to slip. The neighbouring room was occupied by foreign-language guests from 4 to 5 July. The enormous noise on their balcony until midnight was very disturbing. The green salad in the evening of 3 July was very dry and tough. The doors from the bathroom into the room open towards the inside of the bathroom (is this architecturally correct?). The plain at the top of Monte Verita should be better communicated (can be easily reached by a forest path).

Cozy stay with fine views

The lake view was pretty awesome from our room! The breakfast was really good too, tons of options to choose from. On the flip side, the air conditioning wasn't super powerful, a bit stuffy at times. Nice vibes and friendly staff!

It was a standard 4 star hotel , room amenities could be upgraded .

No 24 hour reception, key system (after 8pm )not explained to guests . Breakfast not kept replenished , on both mornings items ran out and no further eggs, cheese or hams where bought out. This is not good when you have 12 guests eating only bread and fruit for breakfast.

Dinner room reminds us more the ambiance of an hospital than a nice hotel.

Attention from the reception staff upon arrival was excellent,very polite and very courteous.Assistance was very good in all aspects and we are looking forward to our next stay at this hotel.Our second visit will be for our first wedding anniversary.

Breakfast buffet was poor, the bar closed before 23:00 and we have been advised to use the minibar instead,

It was just a perfect match for a city escape in Ascona with good value considering the price it charged. I really enjoyed the subtropical plants around the area, unique for my stay. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes for the steep walks around town.

This is a nice hotel, but it is quite high above the lake, so to walk into the center of Ascona is not very convenient. There are plenty of free parking. An excellent and varied breakfast

Fine views and great staff, but Wi-Fi was spotty .
